2023 Elbert County Economic Development Annual Report

March 25, 2024 - At today’s quarterly Elbert County Economic Development Council meeting, Director of Community and Economic Development Marc Dettenrieder released the 2023 Elbert County Economic Development Report, a compilation of the department’s accomplishments from the past year, along with key performance metrics and economic analysis for the year ahead.

The report highlighted the team’s leadership in the effort to secure $4M in grant funding for Maverix Broadband to expand its fiber optic network south of Kiowa, and its guiding role in preparation of a Water Master Plan for the county. As the team looks forward to 2024, work on the county’s Comprehensive Plan will dominate the agenda, along with re-engaging in more traditional economic development work, such as business recruitment.
